The great war within

Reality vs illusion; Walk by faith not by sight 

What we perceive through our eyes(flesh) is a process through the soul eyes.  In order to perceive truth and reality we must perceive and process data through our spirit.  We must learn to discern the difference between the soul perception and the spirit perception.  We will experience double mindedness if we process both equally.

To walk in faith not by sight will solve this incredible war that goes on within us.

Have you ever believed fully in something you know the Holy Spirit showed you?  Along with the insight also came copious amounts of hope and joy.  Then suddenly you begin to think that none of this insight makes any sense, you then begin to assess the situation through the eyes of what others will think.  You begin to wonder if you are crazy for believing what father has told you.  It seems then cause of what you can see and logically deduce, there is no way on earth that what Father has shared with you could ever happen.  So you ask for some confirmation.  Then you get it and you feel great once again.  You become full of confidence and faith.

The cycle of fear and faith.  This is a great war within that could potentially affect our obedience.  I believe it can be extremely difficult to stand alone, especially if what you stand for makes no sense in the eyes of the flesh.  I challenge you to think about the repercussions of following your flesh through soul eyes instead of the spirit eyes.  Many great and mighty things will occur if you can overcome this war within.  First the will of God will be accomplished through you!!  Many, many people will be blessed, helped, encouraged and brought to the kingdom of light as you persevere, endure and succeed in obedience and faith.  Finally, you won’t live in wonder and regret.  Imagine always wondering how life could have been different if only you had obeyed and persevered.

I think it is most helpful to realize why this war is going on within you.   When Adam and Eve sinned, their spirit died.  They lost their ability to perceive through their spirit eyes.  Suddenly they are thrust into a world perceiving only through their “flesh through their soul eyes”.  This caused a great twisting of reality.  All reality suddenly changed for Adam and Eve. Now we have Jesus and His amazing sacrifice.  Jesus fashioned us a new spirit.  One that is capable of becoming one with the Holy spirit, one that is able to share an abode.

1 Corinthians 6:17 (NASB)

¹⁷ But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

 

Romans 8:16 (NASB)

¹⁶ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

This of course is only possible when you have accepted the gift of life from Jesus.  

John 3:16-17  (NASB)

¹⁶ “For God so loved the world, that He gave His ^[a]only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

As a result of what Jesus has done, we now have the chance to see through our spiritual eyes once again.  Unfortunately, our flesh through our soul eyes are still open.  This causes us to be capable of being double minded in our approach to life and reality.

James 1:6-8  (NASB)

⁶ But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. ⁷ For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, ⁸ being a ^[a]double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Now we have to learn to close our flesh through soul eyes completely and keep open our flesh through spirit eyes.

This world is set up for the flesh through soul eyes only.  When we shut those soul eyes and open spirit eyes, we are suddenly thrust into a whole new understanding which defies and denies the flesh and soul embraced reality.  It causes us not to fit in with all those who are still viewing this reality through flesh soulish eyes.

1 Corinthians 2:14  (NASB)

¹⁴ But ^[a]a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually ^[b]appraised.

Until their spiritual eyes are awakened, they will not see the true reality nor understand why you do the things you do and why you believe what you believe.

We cannot get encouragement, support or understanding from someone whose spiritual eyes are not open.  We also need to be careful of those brothers and sisters who have not yet mastered shutting the flesh through the soul eyes.  This gets to be trickier as often times you and the other person don’t understand why there is a discrepancy to how you each see things.  For you know that the Holy Spirit resides within each of you.  This is true but shutting down the soul eyes takes understanding and some practice.

I honestly don’t think too many people are aware of this situation.  The more aware people become the easier it will get.  Then there will be more support for people who see through spirit eyes.  This understanding will only propel us forward in p0wer and love, helping to further the kingdom.

I have been feeling more and more lately that this reality I was born into is not quite right.  I now understand why it says that we look into a mirror dimly and that our ways are not God’s ways.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (NASB)

12 For now we see in a mirror [a]dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

 

Isaiah 55:8-9  (NASB)

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

It is time to wake up our spiritual eyes and close our soul eyes.  I believe that the heart of the flesh is corrupt; but the heart of the spirit will speak truth.  These are both within us, it is up to us to listen to the spirit of truth rather than that of the soul.

The ruler of this world is darkness.  We are to rise above and walk in light and love.  I believe the starting point to succeed in this is to shut the fleshly soul eyes and open the flesh through spirit eyes.  This takes us out of a skewed, distorted and twisted reality and places us in truth, clarity and wisdom.

So, I say again

2 Corinthians 5:7  (NASB)

7 for we walk by faith, not by [a]sight—
