The Prodigal Son Revisited

    The story of the prodigal son, I believe, is relatively well known.  I was always intrigued with this passage of scripture.  One day I was studying this passage with my friend Jen and this understanding came to us.  I was quite surprised at this, but it made total sense to us.

     As always with anything written by human hands, pray and ask the Holy Spirit for the truth!  He is our helper and our teacher.  Here are a couple of verses to ponder upon!

New American Standard Bible

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

From <http://biblehub.com/john/14-26.htm>

New American Standard Bible

As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

From <http://biblehub.com/1_john/2-27.htm>

    The passage begins talking about a family, one that has two sons.  The older son was the reliable one and the younger one was the wayward one.   My challenge to you this day is to look at the older son as an immortal being

(b’nai elohim=sons of God, this is a type as I am thinking the big bro is the first one created) and the younger son as Adam which becomes Adam’s race.

There were many things that led me down this path, but ultimately it was the sacrificial animal that stood out the most for me.  I will explain a little later about this.  Let’s continue.  Here are the first sentences of the passage.

11 And He said, “A man had two sons. 12 The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his[a]wealth between them.

    I see this as representing the creation, like the Heavens and the Earth.  These are the establishments of the wealth and their divisions.  These are the next couple of verses.

13 And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. 14 Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished.

    Well now we have the fall of mankind, the younger son really messed up and really defiled the earth with his corruption of sin!

The Fall of Man

Genesis 3:1-24

      1Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden’?” 2The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’” 4The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! 5“For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. 7Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.

      8They heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” 10He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” 11And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” 12The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.” 13Then the LORDGod said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

14The LORD God said to the serpent,
         “Because you have done this,
         Cursed are you more than all cattle,
         And more than every beast of the field;
         On your belly you will go,
         And dust you will eat
         All the days of your life;

15And I will put enmity
         Between you and the woman,
         And between your seed and her seed;
         He shall bruise you on the head,
         And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

16To the woman He said,
         “I will greatly multiply
         Your pain in childbirth,
         In pain you will bring forth children;
         Yet your desire will be for your husband,
         And he will rule over you.”

17Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’;
         Cursed is the ground because of you;
         In toil you will eat of it
         All the days of your life.

18“Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
         And you will eat the plants of the field;

19By the sweat of your face
         You will eat bread,
         Till you return to the ground,
         Because from it you were taken;
         For you are dust,
         And to dust you shall return.”

20Now the man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all the living. 21The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

22Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. 24So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

    This made Adam and Eve have to leave their current estate, which was the garden of Eden,(which I believe was in an alternate dimension) and travel down to the earth. This is an excerpt from The First Book of Adam and Eve

Part 1 chapter 1:9

9 And God commanded him to live there in a cave in a rock — the Cave of Treasures below the garden.

    As these transgressions continue the earth becomes more and more corrupt.  Everything is spent, squandered really!!  Here is what happens next,

15 So he went and [b]hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the [c]pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him.  Here are a few swine verses

New American Standard Bible

“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

From <http://biblehub.com/matthew/7-6.htm>

Matthew 8:30-34New American Standard Bible (NASB)

30 Now there was a herd of many swine feeding at a distance from them. 31 The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.” 32 And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters. 33 The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, [a]including what had happened to the demoniacs. 34 And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region.

From <https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+8%3A30-34&version=NASB;KJV>

    As you can see this earthly realm is loaded with the nasty swine!! (This is another paper for another time.  All the nasty that seems related to the swine and why they are so liked by the demon population and the parasitic community as well 🙂  It is interesting that it is the swine that is representing real deep darkness)

    Now at this point in human history we are a depraved people in serious need of saving!!  And then we are “reminded” of our God the Father in Heaven on High.

 17 But when he came to [d]his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! 18 I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and [e]in your sight; 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.”’

    Now we have mankind seriously starving for the true bread that these creatures of this dark world cannot supply.  Now we have the need for a savior and what happens next will knock your socks off!!

20 So he got up and came to [f]his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and [g]embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; 23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; 24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.

 John 6:35New American Standard Bible (NASB)

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

From <https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+6:35>

    This sounds a lot like Jesus to me!!  Now we have mankind that needs a blood sacrifice in order to be back in the presence of the father and to be back in the kingdom!!  So this son repents and asks for forgiveness.  There is much to celebrate, most importantly reinstatement back into the family!!

Ephesians 2:8-10

8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

http://biblehub.com/context/ephesians/2-8.htm

Romans 10:9-13

9that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” 12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

http://biblehub.com/context/romans/10-9.htm

    Here is the rest of the story.  There are a few questions I would like to pose to you so you can have them roll around in your head for a little while. Was there or is there a human alive on earth, other than Jesus, that did not need a sacrificial lamb?  Are there any humans from this earth that stayed in the kingdom with the Father and never sinned?

    Now let the fun begin, here are the next few verses.

25 “Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.

    The b’nai elohim (sons of God) are always out in the field doing work for their father!!  This verse shows me that there are other sons of God, not just Adam!  Even though these guys fell, they all didn’t fall.  It is not like it was the first created son that fell!!  That is what happened with Adam as a result the entire line fell corrupt, whereas it is not the same for the big brother.  Here is the verse.

New American Standard Bible

that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.

From <http://biblehub.com/genesis/6-2.htm>

28 But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. 29 But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never [h]neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; 30 but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your [i]wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ 31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you [j]have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”

     Now go back to my first two questions of this section.  Can any human boast of a sinless life?  Can any human from the lineage of Adam say, “We have always been with our creator and what is the creator’s is mine, without the blood sacrifice of Yahshua?”  Can we say that we never died to sin and that we are all set to go before our creator unscathed by sin?

    In summary, I see the big brother as never having sinned and not in need of a blood sacrifice to save him.  The blood sacrifice was only needed by the younger brother!!  Therefore, the story cannot be about humans only as no human other than Jesus has ever been perfect and remained in the presence of the Creator without blemish!!
